Dear Parents and Students,

 

My name is Mrs. Thode and I'm happy to introduce myself as your 7th grade Consultant Teacher (for the CTD program).  I have worked as a teacher in the middle school for over 17 years.  The CTD program will bring a creative and differentiated program designed to support you with your classroom content and IEP goals. My goal is to make sure every student who enters this classroom receives the support they need and is also excited to be here!

 

I will be with you throughout the day, only in your main academic classes.  During each class, I will be there to assist you with any concepts or questions you may have.  We also have 6th period together every day. During this period I will preteach and/or reteach any difficult concepts.  We will also work on individual goals and help prepare for upcoming projects and tests.  We will work on organizational skills as well. You will often find that during CTD everything will seem to “come together.”

 

Communication is an important aspect of this program.  In order to have an open line of communication I will be checking, correcting (if necessary), initialing, and writing any necessary information in your student organizer on a daily basis.  I ask parents to read through the organizer at home and initial the bottom of it each night. By initialing the organizer each night, it allows us to remain in communication which is vital for our success.  Parents, if you have any questions/concerns you can always write in the organizer and I will respond the next day.  Email is the fastest form of communication and I will get back to you as quickly as possible.  My email address is lthode@mtsinai.k12.ny.us.
